Apprentice Coach
Kazadi Nyanguila was announced to the Montréal Alliance's coaching staff on April 22nd for the 2025 season.
Montreal native Kazadi Nyanguila has built a basketball journey that has come full circle, returning to his roots as an assistant coach for the Vanier College Division 1 men's basketball team in the 2024-2025 season and now joining the Montréal Alliance for the upcoming season.
Nyanguila established himself as a dominant force during his high school career at La Dauversière, earning team MVP honors while averaging an impressive 22.5 points and 14.8 rebounds per game in his sophomore season. His talent continued to flourish at Vanier College, where he competed in Quebec's CEGEP league and was named a team captain. During his senior campaign, he averaged 12.6 points while leading the league with 10.1 rebounds per game, earning recognition as Vanier's Most Improved Player.
In 2010-11, Nyanguila took his talents to NCAA Division I basketball, joining the University of New Hampshire Wildcats. Though his freshman season provided limited opportunities due to an injury, he demonstrated efficiency with a 41.7% field goal percentage and 75.0% from the free-throw line whil appearing in 10 games with two starts and averaging 8.0 minutes per contest. His collegiate highlight came against Cornell on December 19, 2010, where he posted career-highs of 7 points and 4 rebounds.
Following his collegiate career, Nyanguila has successfully pivoted to coaching. His return to Vanier College and the Alliance as an assistant coach represents a meaningful homecoming, allowing him to mentor the next generation of players at the institution and city where he once developed his own skills on the court.
