7’0 French Centre Ludgy Debaut Signs With Alliance

The Montréal Alliance announced Friday that it has signed French centre Ludgy Debaut for the 2023 season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). A seven-foot centre, Debaut played four seasons with the East Caroline University Pirates.

 

A native of Guadeloupe, Debaut began his collegiate career in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) with the Northwest Florida State College Raiders. In two NJCAA seasons, Debaut played 53 games and won two conference championships. In his second season with the Raiders, Debaut averaged 4.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game.

 

Debaut played four NCAA Division 1 seasons with the East Carolina University Pirates, averaging 2.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 14.2 minutes in 81 games. Debaut also led his team in blocks in 2020-21 and 2021-22.

 

Debaut joins Kemy Ossé, Alain Louis, Elijah Ifejeh and Nathan Cayo, all of whom are returning for their second consecutive season, Quebecers Mamadou Gueye, Quincy Louis-Jeune, Saydou Sall and Biniam Ghebrekidan, U Sports draft picks Aryan Sharma and Bahaïde Haïdara, Toronto native Marcus Ottey, 2022 CEBL Second Team All-Star Ahmed Hill, and Americans Blake Francis and Treveon Graham as the 14th member of the roster for the 2023 season.
