GREEK CENTRE GAIOS SKORDILIS LEAVES THE ALLIANCE

Montréal, QC – The Montréal Alliance announced Tuesday that Greek centre Gaios Skordilis is leaving the team to spend the rest of the season in his native Greece. 


Skordilis joined the team during training camp and has played in all seven of the team’s games so far this season. Overall, the Greek player has averaged 4.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 12.3 minutes per game.  


The Montréal Alliance wishes him the best of luck in his personal and professional endeavors. 


About the Montréal Alliance

The Montréal Alliance is a professional basketball team competing in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). The team plays all their home games at the newly renovated Verdun Auditorium. The Alliance opened its inaugural season May 25 against the Honey Badgers in Hamilton. The season, comprised of 10 home games and 10 road games, ends August 1 when the team faces the BlackJacks in Ottawa. The CEBL began its fourth season in May. A league created by Canadians for Canadians, more than 75 percent of its players during the past three seasons were Canadian, the highest percentage of any professional league in the country.
