The Montréal Alliance announced Thursday that it has signed small forward Biniam Ghebrekidan for the 2023 season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). “I am incredibly honoured to have the opportunity to play for the Montréal Alliance,” said the newest member of the Alliance. “It means so much to me to represent my province at the professional level. I can’t wait to hit the court and give my all for the fans and the team.”

Prior to joining Carleton, Ghebrekidan attended Cégep de l’Outaouais and represented Team Canada in the U18 Americas Championship in 2014.

Ghebrekidan joins returning players Alain Louis and Nathan Cayo, Québec native Mamadou Gueye, U Sports draft picks Aryan Sharma and Bahaïde Haïdara and 2022 CEBL Second Team All-Star Ahmed Hill as the seventh member of the team for the 2023 season.
