Montréal Alliance Release Dontay Bassett

June 26, 2025

The Montréal Alliance announce they have released center Dontay Bassett. The 6’10 center appeared in eight games for the Alliance this season, averaging 8.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.

The release comes following the recent addition of American center O.D. Anosike, as CEBL regulations limit teams to four non-Canadian players on the active roster.

“We appreciate the work ethic and professionalism Dontay brought to the Alliance this summer,” said Joel Anthony, general manager and co-owner of the Alliance. “We wish him well as he continues to develop his game.”

The Alliance currently hold a 5-4 record and will head to Ottawa for its 10th game of the season on Saturday, June 28.
