Celebrating Alain Louis and the early chapters of Alliance basketball

As 2026 begins with new energy and the Montreal Alliance looks ahead to what's next, it’s also important to recognize the people who helped build the foundation in the very beginning. Today, we're celebrating someone who helped write the early chapters of our story and who represents what Montreal basketball is all about — Alain Louis.

Born and raised here in Montreal, Alain grew up playing basketball in the community he calls home. From his earliest days on local courts to becoming a national champion at Carleton University, his journey has always been rooted in his city and its people.

Drafted second overall by the Alliance in 2022, Alain became the only player to suit up for the team in every season since its inception. Over four seasons, he was a key part of the group that helped establish the identity of Alliance basketball. He showed what it meant to compete with pride, adapt through change, and represent the city with professionalism and resilience.

But Alain’s impact goes far beyond the stat sheet.

Over the years, he’s remained deeply connected to the community that raised him — visiting his elementary school, spending time with kids at summer camps, and bringing smiles and inspiration to patients at local hospitals. Whether it’s talking basketball with young fans or offering encouragement, his love for Montreal has always been clear.

For fans who’ve been with us since day one, Alain is a familiar name rooted in our story. For newer supporters discovering the Alliance, his journey is a powerful reminder that great basketball isn’t just about points — it’s about connection, pride, and community.

On his birthday, we take a moment to look back and say thank you — for your passion, your presence, and everything you’ve meant to this city and this organization.

Happy birthday, Alain 💙
