ELIE KAROJO AND SAMUEL CHAPUT LOOK TO INSPIRE THE NEXT GENERATION

Feb 20, 2023

MONTRÉAL, 20 février 2023 – While the majority of the 2022 Alliance players are currently playing overseas during the CEBL off-season, a few players, including U Sports development players, are still in Montréal and are dedicated to inspiring the next generation.

Elie Karojo and Samuel Chaput both spent the summer wearing Alliance jerseys before returning to play for their respective universities. Elie Karojo currently plays at the Université du Québec à Montréal and Samuel Chaput for the McGill Redbirds. Despite their busy schedules juggling studies and basketball, both had reserved a few hours in their schedule to participate in the Alliance’s Hooked on School Days initiatives last week.

On Wednesday, February 15, Samuel Chaput headed to Marguerite-de Lajemmerais High School, where he held a conference about the importance of perseverance in all areas of life. On February 17, it was Elie Karojo’s turn to share his inspiring journey, this time at the Gédéon-Ouimet center, which welcomes students in literacy, francization and general adult education.

Elie Karojo has already dedicated more than 40 hours to school visits and other Alliance community events since the beginning of the off-season.

The Montréal Alliance is proud of its community involvement and impact on the development of young students. Since the end of the 2022 season, the Alliance has visited over 15 schools, held its first two community tournaments and participated in various community initiatives across the city, on the South Shore and in Laval.

It is possible to book a player appearance by filling out the Alliance community form at https://www.alliancemontreal.ca/en-ca/community.
