Dunn-Martin Electrifies Verdun in Historic 105-Point Victory

The Montréal Alliance delivered a memorable performance on Haitian Heritage Night, defeating the Edmonton Stingers behind a franchise-record 105 points in front of an electric crowd at Verdun Auditorium.
A First Half to Remember
Tavian Dunn-Martin turned Verdun Auditorium into his personal playground from the opening tip. The 5'8" guard set the tone early, crossing over Torin Dorn Jr. before draining a three-pointer that ignited the crowd.
The sequence that defined the evening came in the first quarter: Ben Stevens delivered a defensive block that sparked back-to-back triples from Dunn-Martin. His transition pull-up three from near the logo forced an Edmonton timeout with the Alliance ahead 24-11.
The second quarter confirmed this was Dunn-Martin's night. The crafty guard showcased his full arsenal: a three-pointer off a perfectly executed screen, followed by a step-back triple over Hornsby that brought the house down. Malcolm Duvivier joined the party with three triples in the quarter, helping the Alliance build a commanding 26-point halftime lead.
Depth on Full Display
The comfortable advantage allowed Jermaine Small to showcase his full rotation in the second half. The Alliance bench responded with 37 points, led by Kevin Osawe and Dontay Bassett who each contributed 13 points.
"We got some dogs coming off the bench," Dunn-Martin said with enthusiasm. "They come in and give 100% effort every time." Small didn't hesitate to call Osawe the team's "best player tonight" after the contest.
First Real Test Passed with Flying Colours
This victory represented the Alliance's first true challenge after back-to-back wins over Brampton. The team responded by setting a new franchise record with 31 assists, surpassing their league-leading average of 27 assists per game.
Despite Sean East II's 27-point effort - the player Small had identified as the primary threat before the game - the Alliance controlled the tempo from start to finish. The team shot an impressive 63% inside the arc and 42% from three-point range.
Looking Ahead
"I think this week will test us. I think it will really test who we are," Small said after the victory. "The road is where you build your skin."
The Alliance (3-0) will travel to Toronto on Monday, June 9th to face the Scarborough Shooting Stars at Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre, determined to maintain their perfect start to the season.
This evening will be remembered not only for the team's record-breaking performance, but also for the successful celebration of Haitian heritage that gave this dominant victory an even more special dimension.
