The Montréal Alliance is thrilled to announce that the electrifying musical ensemble, Clay and Friends, will be gracing the halftime show at the highly anticipated home opener on May 26^th, taking place at the iconic Verdun Auditorium. Hailing from the vibrant neighborhood of Verdun itself, Clay and Friends bring an exhilarating mix of hip-hop, soul, and funk, embodying the essence of La Musica Popular De Verdun.

Known for their pulsating rhythms and captivating performances, Clay and Friends have garnered a devoted following throughout Canada and Europe since their inception in 2015. Under the spirited #KeEpItMoViN’ umbrella, the group has ignited over 1,750 stages, leaving audiences mesmerized by their magnetic presence. In 2017, they unleashed their debut album, “Conformopolis,” and followed up with the English-language EP titled “La Musica Popular De Verdun” in 2019, amassing an astounding 20 million streams.

The band’s exceptional talent has not gone unnoticed, as they were honoured with the prestigious Révélation Radio Canada Chanson 2020-2021 award and secured the Pop EP of the Year accolade at the esteemed Gala Alternatif de la Musique Indépendante du Québec (GAMIQ). Their sensational track, “Going Up The Coast,” achieved Gold certification, an extraordinary testament to its 40,000 digital sales in Canada alone. With over 16 million listens to date since its release in October 2018, the song continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Adding to their remarkable achievements, Clay and Friends have been nominated for the highly coveted Félix Leclerc Award in 2021.

Eager to continue their sonic journey, Clay and Friends recently unleashed their third EP, “AGUÀ,” on November 12, 2022. Boasting six mesmerizing tracks, including an English offering, the EP propelled the band to sell-out their inaugural MTELUS show in Montréal within weeks. The overwhelming response led to the announcement of an additional MTELUS performance on May 21, 2022, alongside their sold-out launch at the Impérial Bell in Québec City and a thrilling showcase at POPUP! Du Label in Paris on March 14, 2022. The unstoppable force that is La Musica Popular De Verdun is now spreading its magic with the release of the album, “AGUÀ EXTEND’EAU” on June 10, 2022, featuring remarkable collaborations with Louis Jean Cormier, Comment Debord, Mantisse, and Marilyne Léonard.
