CANADIAN GUARD OSBORNE SIGNS WITH MONTRÉAL ALLIANCE

Mar 28, 2022

MONTRÉAL, QC - The Montréal Alliance announced Monday that 6-foot-5 Canadian shooting guard Isiah Osborne has signed a contract with the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) expansion franchise, making him the second player in the organization’s history.

A native of Windsor, Osborne is currently completing the 2021-2022 season with Kouvot in Finland’s top-tier league where he is averaging 16.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.4 steals and 32.8 minutes per game while shooting 41.2 percent from the field and 37.4 percent from the three-point line.

Osborne spent his college career with three universities in two different countries. The 25-year-old shooting guard played his freshman season with the University of Windsor and averaged 15 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 33 minutes per game. Osborne joined the University of Texas in El Paso in the NCAA’s division 1 for his sophomore season where he averaged 9.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 26.9 minutes per game. Osborne played his final two collegiate years with the University of Carleton where he led his team to back-to-back U SPORTS Championships in 2019 and 2020, being named Championship MVP and on the All-Star team in the latter season. Osborne’s prowess allowed him to sign with the Ottawa BlackJacks as a U SPORTS developmental player in 2020 before being selected third overall by the Guelph Nighthawks in the 2021 CEBL draft.

Osborne becomes the second player in franchise history after the team announced the signing of Kemy Osse last week and will join the team for the beginning of training camp starting May 16. Fans will have the opportunity to see Osborne perform 10 times this summer at the new Verdun Auditorium.
