AMERICAN CENTRE EMONDRE RICKMAN SIGNS WITH MONTRÉAL ALLIANCE

Montréal, QC – The Montréal Alliance announced Friday that American centre Emondre Rickman has signed a contract with the expansion team for the remainder of the 2022 season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). 


The six-foot-10 centre played his three professional seasons with Lusitania Expert in the Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol (2019-2020), the Surrey Scorchers in the British Basketball League (2020-2021) and Unger Steel Gunners Oberwart in the Austrian Basketball Bundesliga (2021-2022). 


This season, in Austria, Rickman averaged 6.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. The Illinois native also scored 10 or more points in seven games and added two or more blocks six times, including five in a game against Swans Gmunden on April 3. 


Statistically, Rickman played his best season in 2019-2020 with Lusitania Expert, averaging 9.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1.7 blocks per game. 


Prior to his professional career, Rickman played four seasons at Indiana State University where he averaged 6.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.9 block per game in his final year. 


Rickman joins point guards Kemy Ossé, Hernst Laroche, Alain Louis and Lawi Msambya, shooting guards Isiah Osborne and Sherwood Brown, forwards Dominic Green, Ashley Hamilton, James Jean-Marie, Nathan Cayo, Abdul Mohamed and Élie Karojo as well as centre Marc-André Fortin. The Alliance currently hold a 3-8 record in 11 regular season games and will face the Hamilton Honey Badgers in their next home game on Thursday, July 7 at 7:30 p.m. For more information or to purchase single game tickets starting at $20 per game, visit
