The Montréal Alliance won its opening game against the Niagara River Lions 84-69 on Friday evening at the Verdun Auditorium.

Blake Francis scored 32 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the win, in addition to making five three-point shots.

Ahmed Hill added 17 points, including the winning basket, while Nathan Cayo and Treveon Graham both had double-doubles. After a slow start, Graham finished the game with 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Cayo collected 10 points and 14 rebounds.

For Niagara, Patrick Whelan led the team with 13 points, followed by Lloyd Pandi, who scored 12.
