Auditorium de Verdun

The Montréal Alliance (2-0) return to Verdun Auditorium riding a wave of momentum after their dominant 92-71 road victory over Brampton on Wednesday, setting the stage for a highly anticipated home opener against the Edmonton Stingers (2-4) on Haitian Heritage Night.
Dominant Road Performance Sets the Tone
Wednesday’s commanding victory at the CAA Centre showcased everything the Alliance faithful hoped to see from their revamped roster. Anthony Walker was unstoppable, erupting for a game-high 25 points on an efficient 9-of-15 shooting while adding 7 rebounds in just 21 minutes of action. The versatile forward was particularly lethal in transition, converting dunks and displaying an expanded offensive repertoire that kept Brampton’s defense scrambling throughout the contest.
The Alliance’s balanced attack was on full display, with six players reaching double figures in what was a clinic in team basketball. The arrival of veteran point guard Tavian Dunn-Martin proved to be the missing piece, as the 27-year-old orchestrated the offense with surgical precision in his Alliance debut. Dunn-Martin finished with 13 points and team-high 7 assists, including several spectacular passes that created easy scoring opportunities for his teammates.
Local hero Quincy Guerrier continued his excellent start to the season with 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, while the reliable Dontay Bassett provided his usual two-way impact with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block. The depth was evident as Michael Diggins Jr. contributed 11 points off the bench, and Malcolm Duvivier chipped in 8 points including two crucial three-pointers.
Perfect Chemistry Already Evident
What made Wednesday's victory so impressive was the seamless integration of Dunn-Martin into the Alliance's system. Despite having minimal practice time with his new teammates, the veteran guard looked like he had been running the offense for months, demonstrating the basketball IQ that made him such an attractive target during his standout season in Holland (18.5 points, 5.5 assists).
The Alliance's ball movement was exceptional, registering assists on the majority of their field goals, while their defensive pressure forced numerous turnovers and controlled the glass to limit Brampton's second-chance opportunities.
Stingers Seek Redemption
Edmonton arrives in Montréal with a 2-4 record but carrying significant firepower in the form of Sean East II, who leads the CEBL in scoring with 91 points through four games. The Missouri product has been virtually unstoppable, averaging 24.2 points per contest while shooting an impressive 54.6% from the field.
The Stingers will also lean on veteran leadership from Nick Hornsby, who recently achieved the milestone of 500 career CEBL points, and the rebounding presence of Keon Ambrose-Hylton, who leads Edmonton with 8.8 rebounds per game. Chris Smith, fresh off his international season in Israel, adds another dimension to their frontcourt rotation
Keys to Victory
For the Alliance: Maintaining the defensive intensity and ball movement that sparked their road victory will be crucial. Dunn-Martin's continued integration and Walker's explosive scoring ability give them multiple weapons, while the depth demonstrated against Brampton provides head coach Jermaine Small with numerous options.
For Edmonton: The Stingers must find ways to slow down the Alliance's balanced attack while getting East II the shots he needs to carry their offense. The battle in the paint between Guerrier and Ambrose-Hylton could determine rebounding supremacy, while the Stingers' perimeter defense will be tested by Montréal's improved ball movement.
After a statement victory on the road, the Alliance return home with confidence and momentum, ready to provide their fans with an unforgettable home opener on this special cultural celebration night.
