Jahmal Jones

Assistant Coach

Jahmal Jones joins the Montréal Alliance as Assistant Coach for the 2026 season.


A native of Mississauga, Ontario, Jones made his mark at Toronto Metropolitan University (Ryerson) during his collegiate career (2010–2015), establishing himself as one of the most decorated players in program history. In his first season, he was named OUA East Rookie of the Year and Ryerson Male Athlete of the Year. He capped off his university career with a Second Team All-Canadian selection in 2014–15, helping lead the team to a CIS bronze medal. His résumé also includes three OUA East First Team All-Star selections and two Ryerson Male Athlete of the Year awards.


Jones also represented Canada on the international stage, including appearances at the 2011 Pan American Games and the 2011 and 2015 FISU World University Games, where he served as co-captain.


Following his collegiate career, Jones embarked on an extensive professional journey across multiple European leagues, including stops in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Estonia, Slovakia, Denmark, and Sweden. He also competed in the CEBL with the Edmonton Stingers, winning a championship under Head Coach Jermaine Small, before continuing his career in Spain’s LEB Silver league.


Jones began his transition into coaching in 2023, serving as head coach at H5 Academy Prep. More recently, he joined the Toronto Metropolitan University men’s basketball program as an assistant coach, while continuing his involvement in athlete development.



Known for his international experience and understanding of the game, Jones continues to bring a valuable perspective to the Alliance coaching staff.
