Alliance Defeat Honey Badgers 92-86 in Front of Electric Home Crowd

On a night when professional basketball took centre stage in Montreal, with the Toronto Tempo playing at the Bell Centre and the Montreal Alliance hosting the Brampton Honey Badgers at the Verdun Auditorium, the Alliance earned a 92-86 victory in front of its second-largest home crowd of the season. The energetic crowd of 2,543 helped create one of the team's best home atmospheres of the year.

Ithiel "IT" Horton continued his impressive start with the Alliance, leading Montreal with 22 points on 56 per cent shooting. Blondeau Tchoukuiegno added 19 points and six assists, while Keeshawn Barthélémy sparked the second unit with 18 points, five assists and three three-pointers.

Facing his former team for the first time since joining Montreal, Prince Oduro contributed across the board with 11 points, six rebounds, five assists and three blocks. Jack Hemphill also continued to make an immediate impact, scoring 10 points in just his second game with the Alliance, as Montreal placed six players in double figures.

Fuelled by the energy inside the Verdun Auditorium, the Alliance led for most of the evening, building an advantage as large as 14 points. Montreal connected on 12 three-pointers while limiting the Honey Badgers to just 23 per cent shooting from beyond the arc, securing an important Eastern Conference victory.

For the Honey Badgers, Tyrese Hunter led all scorers with 27 points and eight assists, while Trentyn Flowers added 20 points. Matthew Moncrieffe recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The Alliance returns to the road for a three-game road trip beginning Sunday, July 12, against the Niagara River Lions before returning to the Verdun Auditorium on Friday, July 24, to host the Ottawa BlackJacks in a key Eastern Conference matchup.
