Fifth Season Features 12 Home Games at Verdun Auditorium & Historic New Playoff Format.

Montréal, QC – The Montreal Alliance announced today its official schedule for the 2026 Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) regular season, marking the club’s fifth season in the league. The Alliance will once again play a 24-game regular season, highlighted by 12 home games at the historic Verdun Auditorium, continuing the league-wide balanced format introduced by the CEBL.

“Reaching our fifth season is a meaningful milestone for this organization,” said Joel Anthony, General Manager and Co-Owner of the Montreal Alliance. “Each year we’ve continued to build, and 2026 feels like the start of another evolution. We’re confident in the direction of the team and excited about what lies ahead for the Alliance.”

Montréal opens its 2026 home slate on Friday, May 15 at 7:30 PM, welcoming the Scarborough Shooting Stars to Verdun Auditorium for a 2025 playoff rematch. The Alliance will host eight out of nine CEBL opponents at least once during the season, offering fans a full showcase of the league’s top talent.

“The 2026 schedule sets the stage for a season built around newness,” said Nicolas Lesage, Chief of Operations of the Montreal Alliance. “Fans can expect new game day elements and an enhanced fan experience at Verdun Auditorium. From opening night onward, we’re excited to build on what our supporters love while introducing what’s next for the Montreal Alliance.”

The Alliance home schedule strikes a balance between prime-time energy and family-friendly experiences, featuring six Friday night games at Verdun Auditorium alongside two Sunday afternoon matchups designed to welcome fans of all ages

Rivalries remain a central storyline in 2026, with several high-profile Eastern Conference matchups, including Ottawa and Scarborough, while once again being featured during marquee moments on the CEBL calendar, including Canada Day and a Caribana celebration.

Historic New Playoff Format Debuts in 2026

The 2026 CEBL Playoffs will begin with single-elimination Conference Semifinals on Thursday, August 6, where the 1st seed faces the 4th seed and the 2nd seed faces the 3rd seed in each conference.

Winners will advance to the Conference Finals on Saturday, August 8, with higher seeds hosting each single-elimination round.

The CEBL Finals will be a best-of-three series from August 12 to 16, marking the first multi-game playoff series in league history.

Game 1 – August 12

Game 2 – August 15

Game 3 (if necessary) – August 16

The lower-seeded team will host Game 1, while the higher-seeded team will host Games 2 and 3 (if necessary), replacing the previous single-elimination Championship Weekend host team model.
